What we Do

UEC is a performance-driven general contractor committed to effectively managing and delivering successful projects on time and within budget. Our team is composed of project managers, administrators, superintendents and craftsmen that self-perform on-site supervision, quality control, safety, cost estimating, administration and project management

Our employees constantly stay up to date on codes, criteria and specifications through training and continuing professional education. Certifications/training held by our employees include OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety, ASHE Healthcare Construction, Construction Quality Management for Contractors (USACE), USACE EM 385-1-1 Level II Safety, CPR/AED/Standard First Aid, Lock Out Tag Out, and Hazardous Materials, among others.

Our History

Founded in 1994, United Excel (UEC) incorporated in Kansas City with an initial focus of becoming a local healthcare contracting specialist.  A commitment to quality and timeliness garnered UEC a reputation for excellence that allowed it to expand its market footprint outside the greater Kansas City area.  Healthcare providers knew that engaging UEC translated to state-of-the-art healthcare facilities.

UEC later shifted its focus from the conventional design-bid-build approach to design-build. Single source responsibility of the design/build delivery model allowed UEC to move into a position of leadership and enhance project value.  Value engineering could now be implemented at the beginning of the project, not simply near bid time, when the foundation of the project has already been established.  Hospital designers, architects, engineers and contractors worked collaboratively to ensure an efficient design and the best value, while reducing project risk for the Owner.

More than 20 years later, the UEC leadership team has never lost its initial focus of becoming the highest quality builder in the industry.  We now help clients all across the country that include both private sector and government projects. UEC has completed more than 1,000 construction projects for facilities across the nation.  The firm looks forward to continuing to grow and provide its clients with real value.
